AfriFest East 2026 – East Anglia’s Biggest Celebration of African Culture 🎉

Join thousands at Chapelfield Gardens on Saturday 15 August 2026 for a full day of music, food, dance, and cultural pride. AfriFest East brings together international artists, regional talent, and community vibes in one unforgettable summer experience.

Expect live performances from Afrobeat stars, traditional dance, family games, competitions, and a rich spread of African street food and drinks. Cultural showcases include the Igbo masquerade, High-life music, and youth-led creativity.

Kids are at the heart of the fun too! With dedicated zones for games, face painting, storytelling, and creative workshops, children can explore, play, and learn in a safe, joyful space. It’s a day for all generations to celebrate together.

Whether you’re coming with family, friends, or flying solo, this is your moment to celebrate Africa in the heart of East Anglia. Free entry for children under 12. Come early, stay late, and be part of the movement.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes! Tickets at the door will be sold at a slight premium. So, we encourage buying your tickets prior to the event.

Can I bring children and strollers?

Absolutely. There are family-friendly zones and accessible paths. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I bring food and Drinks to the event?

Food and drinks are not allowed into the event. We have a selection of food and drink vendors providing a selection of African food and drinks. You will be refused entry if you bring food/drinks.

Is there parking?

Limited parking may be available near the venue. We recommend public transport or rideshare for convenience.

Do you offer refunds?

Tickets are generally non-refundable. In the event of postponement, tickets remain valid for the new date.

Do I need an ID to attend the event?

No! You will not be required to present ID on entry. However, if you are lucky to look under 25, you will be required to present proof of identity (e.g. Drivers Licence, Passport etc.) to purchase alcohol.

Is there a dress code for the event?

No! There is no dress code required to attend the event. However, if you would like to share your culture on the day or be selected as best dressed on the day, then please come in your native attire.

How much do kids under 12 have to pay for tickets?

Kids aged under 12 years old do not have to pay to attend. Just turn up at the event and have a memorable family time.

What time does the after party start?

Are dogs allowed?

No, dogs are not allowed at the event

Do you offer discounts for carers accompanying individuals who are registered disabled?

Will there be security available at the event?

Yes. For everyone's safety, there will be a bag search upon entry, and security personnel will be stationed throughout the venue.
